Since 2014, Mermaid Gin has been handmade on the Isle of Wight, at the Isle of Wight Distillery. The gin is made with local, wild-grown and ethically sourced botanicals. Mermaid Gin is a smooth yet complex gin, with a hint of sea air from fragrant rock samphire. Certified as plastic-free.

Mermaid is focused on sustainability and the use of natural ingredients. As part of this, the brand is proactive in helping protect the island. This involves gradually removing plastic from packaging and supply chains, while using biodegradable materials wherever possible. The natural ingredients are also picked by hand.
The Isle of Wight distillery is the only one on this unique island with natural scenery. The founders Xavier and Conrad are focused on doing things differently based on making complex beverages. The name of this gin is inspired by the botanical rock samphire, known locally as 'mermaid's kiss'.
